The first days with baby!!!

After 3 to 5 days to motherhood, you go home. These days, you have helped to know your newborn. The nursery gave you the first advice, but now it's your turn to take care of your baby. You probably had the baby blues. This state of depression occurs around the third or fourth day after delivery. It affects more than half of women. This feeling of sadness is common and often harmless. It is characterized by severe fatigue, hypersensitivity and uncontrolled crying. It is important to be surrounded by family and friends. If this small depression does not go quickly, if it exceeds two weeks, it is advisable to go to the doctor.

If you are breastfeeding your child, the midwife will put in a few minutes after delivery. You and only you decide to feed your baby breast or bottle. The father can give his opinion but in no case it can not force you. The first few days, the baby eats in colostrum, a substance rich in proteins and antibodies. About the third day is the rise of milk. Sterile and always at the right temperature, the milk changes as and when required for the child.

If you have chosen the bottle, you will be given medication by a doctor to prevent breast milk production. Midwives will advise you to use infant formula and amounts to give. Bottle-feeding allows the father to get involved. It is also a good way to control the amount absorbed by the baby. In both cases, feeding of the newborn is purely milk the first few months of his life.

The baby sleeps 20 hours a day. In your room or in his, the temperature must not exceed 19 ° C. Lay your child on the back or side with a wedge-baby. Unless medical advice, do not lie on your stomach. Do not use a pillow or blanket. Or prefer the sleeping bag sleeping bag in which the child will not slip. Enjoy those long stretches of quiet to relax. You need it. You will then be more available and fit to take care of the baby when he wakes up.
